Our overall evaluation is that in compared to the rest of Seattle, Georgetown has previously been an asset but is now a barrier. Georgetown has many small businesses but also has some industries such as breweries, railroads, steam plant and airport that have brought in a significant amount of income since its founding. Although in recent years many of these industries have closed down due to new technology. The Georgetown Trailer Park Vintage & Artisan Market is one example of a small business that attracts locals to the area. Although, it does not bring in a significant amount of visitors due to the area having a very high homeless population.
